- This computer-based index is probably the broadest in the social sciences
in terms of inclusion, It is made up of three major parts. The Source
Index lists current journal articles alphabetically arranged by author,
and number of footnotes used. The Permuterm Subject Index is made
up by combining every two significant terms in the title of an article. The Citation
Index is a listing of every book, article, etc., no matter how old, that
has been cited in the current literature.
