About the Regional Health Disparities Symposium
The 3rd Annual Health Disparities Symposium The Next Step: Creating Pathways to Make a Difference invites participants to enter into dialogue with one another to find solutions. The goal of this symposium is to come togeth in a workshop format and discuss issues and create plans that can be implemented over the next year. The action plans, with the partcipants' help, will direct us as we impact health disparities in our communities.
In the last two years, we have looked at health disparities from several different angles. First, we listened to the experts in the field as they told us what the problems were and what they were doing to fight to eliminate health disparities. Last year, researchers, practitioners, and communityy advocates came together to see if we were all really listening to each other in our approaches to the problem. This year, it is time for us to come together to create the pathways to begin to solve the problems in our communities.
There will be five workshops; each participant will choose two and have an active voice in creating pathways to change.
