Emergency Nurse Practitioner Nurse and patient

The role of nurse practitioner specializing in Emergency Nursing is offered at the University of South Alabama College of Nursing. The MSN program prepares graduates for certification as a Family Nurse Practitoner and/or Emergency Nurse Practitioners, and for doctoral study. Graduates of the program are able to synthesize and apply advanced knowledge, theories, and research to a specialized area of nursing practice and function as leaders in practice to contribute to the advancement of the nursing profession.

Core graduate courses and didactic Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) courses are available online. Emergency Nurse Practitioner courses have co-requisite Clinical Practicum courses. The Emergency Nurse Practitioner Program requires all students to attend at least two on campus sessions. Prior to enrolling in ENP clinical courses, all students attend a three to four day orientation that includes physical assessment and a basic skills workshop on campus. The second Fall of the program all students attend a three to four day advanced skills workshop on campus.
