Overview
 
For more than 20 years University of South Alabama Road Scholar has been offering stimulating, exciting, educational and fun programs. Designed for students age 55 and older, these affordable travel adventures are thought-provoking and challenging. Field trips to memorable area sites enhance classroom activities. There are no prerequisites, tests, grades, or homework. Tuition includes lodging, food, classes, field trips and extra-curricular activities. Road Scholar scholarships are also available. Experience southern hospitality while enjoying classes including: Sailing and Navigation, Story Telling, Humor & Comedy, Golf, Historic Architecture, Big Band, Swing & Jazz, Gulf Coast Artists, Birding, Global Issues, Comparative Religions, Local History, Intergenerational, Marine Ecology, Civil War and many other diverse and exciting courses.

Field trips include: Mobile's Historic Homes and Museums, Bellingrath Gardens and Home, Battleship USS Alabama, Africatown, Weeks Bay Estuary, Dauphin Island Sea Lab, Historic Fort Gaines, Fort Morgan, and Fort Conde, Art Museums, Historic Churches, Seining in Estuaries, Audubon Bird Sanctuary, Sailing, Shrimping, Mardi Gras Festivities, and much more!

Join any of USA's exciting Road Scholar programs as a commuter. Live at home or in your condo and participate fully in any class you choose, on a space available basis, of course.
