Mauricio Oliveros, Guest Artist Violin Recital February 7 at Laidlaw

Colombian violinist Mauricio Oliveros will present a Guest Artist Violin Recital on Saturday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. with Northern-Irish pianist Lisa McCarroll. The recital will highlight different styles and genres of the violin and piano literature through the interpretation of masterworks by Bach, Beethoven, Wieniawski and Ravel.

Oliveros and McCarroll began their musical partnership while in school, joining their different musical backgrounds and experience. They are active solo and chamber musicians who have performed throughout Europe and the Americas and currently hold faculty positions at several music institutions in Houston.

Tickets for this Department of Music event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or check only).
