Dr. Jason Bergman, Principal Trumpet of the Mobile Symphony Orchestra and Assistant Professor of Trumpet at The University of North Texas, will present a recital of romantic and neo-romantic works for trumpet. The concert will take place September 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.

The first half of the performance will include selections from Eastern Europe, written or arranged for the great trumpet virtuoso Timofei Dokshizer: Scriabin’s Etude Op. 8, No. 12, and Peskin’s Concerto No. 1 in c-minor. The second half will be compositions by American composers, including James Stephenson’s Fantasie, a work composed in homage of Dokshizer; a new work by trumpeter/composer Kevin McKee, Song for a Friend; and an arrangement by Dr. Bergman of George Gershwin’s Three Preludes.
