Nicholas Brownlee, Special Guest Voice Recital Aug. 25 at Laidlaw!

USA alumnus Nicholas Brownlee will present a special one-night-only voice recital
to benefit the USA Opera Theatre program on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in
the USA Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. Brownlee, who graduated from
USA in 2012, has become a rising star in the world of opera, having won numerous prizes
in international singing competitions, including the 2015 Metropolitan Opera National
Council Auditions. In the past five years, Nick has made major operatic debuts with
Atlanta Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Los Angeles Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, and he made
his European debut at the Teatro de Sao Carlos as Escamillio in Bizet’s Carmen.
In this August 25 concert, Brownlee will perform works of Brahms, Ibert, Ives, and
Mozart, and the recital will include a set of pieces that he performed when he was
a student at USA in the studio of Dr. Thomas Rowell.
Tickets for this special event presented by the Department of Music will be sold at
the door only, and no reserve tickets or seating will be available in advance. Special Event Pricing!! Admission is $15 general and $10 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under
18 and all senior citizens (cash or check only, please). MAS passes will NOT be accepted as admission to this concert. Persons needing more information about this event or in need of special accommodation
