Thomas L. Rowell, Faculty Voice Recital at Laidlaw October 2

Thomas L. Rowell, Associate Professor of Music and Director of USA Opera Theatre,
will present his annual faculty voice recital on Monday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m. in
the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The centerpiece of the recital will
be American composer Reginald Unterseher's dramatic song cycle Here, Bullet. The cycle
is comprised of seven songs that are settings of poems by award-winning American poet
Brian Turner that are reflections of the poet's military service during the Iraq war
as an infantry team leader with the 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry
Division. Rowell will be joined by USA colleagues Robert Holm, Angela Draghicescu,
Laura Moore, and the University Chorale.
Tickets for this Musical Arts Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or check only). Musical Arts Series season passes will of course be honored for admission to this event.
