is the updated version.)
The University of South Alabama Flute Choir and Celtic Crúe, directed by Dr. Andra Bohnet, will present their Spring Concert on Tuesday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The Flute Choir will perform works for both full flute choir and smaller ensembles for a full array of piccolos, soprano flutes, alto flutes, bass flutes, and even a contrabass flute!
After a brief intermission, the Celtic Crúe will present sets of toe tapping jigs, reels and beautiful slow airs performed on simple system Irish style flutes. This is the only ensemble at the collegiate level in the country that combines traditional instruments and culturally appropriate instrumental techniques with a flute choir like sensibility.
Tickets for this Musical Arts Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or check only).
