The University of South Alabama Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble will present Parts 1 & 2 of "An Evening of Band Music" on Thursday, October 1 in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. Dr. Robert Abend will conduct the Symphony Band from 6:30-7:00p in a program featuring Malcolm Arnold's Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo, along with additional works. After a short "intermission," Dr. William Petersen will conduct the Wind Ensemble in Part 2 of the concert at 7:30 p.m. Their program will feature Yasuhide Ito's Gloriosa - Symphonic Poem for Band and music that celebrates composer John Philip Sousa.

Tickets for this USA Musical Arts Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 for general admission and $5 for USA faculty and staff, USA students, youth under 18, and senior citizens. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Musical Arts Series season passes will be honored.

Please Note: An Evening of Band Music consists of two separate concerts: the USA Symphony Band at 6:30 p.m. and the USA Wind Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Patrons are welcome to attend either concert individually or both concerts. Admission is the same regardless of your choice — $8 general admission or $5 for discounted admission. Ticket sales and seating will begin at 6:00p for Part I and 7:00p for Part 2.
