Gov. Kay Ivey has appointed Mobile business executive Ronnie L. Stallworth to an at-large seat on the University of South Alabama Board of Trustees, effective immediately and subject to confirmation of the Alabama State Senate.
“Ronnie Stallworth is a seasoned business executive who brings deep strategic leadership experience to the University of South Alabama Board of Trustees, and I look forward to his contributions in the years ahead,” said USA President Jo Bonner. “As a proud alumnus, Ronnie is a wonderful addition to one of the nation’s most dedicated higher education governing boards.”
Stallworth, a native of Mobile, serves as vice president of business development strategy at Hargrove Engineers & Constructors. He graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2009.
“As a teenager coming on campus in the 1980s, playing pickup basketball games with South’s players, and years later as a non-traditional engineering student, I yearned for opportunities to do more for the university,” said Stallworth. “Of all the things I thought I would do, I never dreamed of being appointed by Gov. Kay Ivey to the Board of Trustees. It is a remarkable honor and blessing to serve in such a capacity. I am very grateful and appreciative for her and others that made this appointment a reality.”
Stallworth’s appointment to the USA Board of Trustees will expire on Sept. 30, 2031.
