Marillyn Hewson to Discuss Leadership and Aerospace at USA

University of South Alabama students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are invited to attend an engaging conversation with Marillyn Hewson, former chairwoman, president and chief executive officer of Lockheed Martin Corp., one of the world’s leading aerospace and defense manufacturers. The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the MacQueen Alumni Center. It is free to attend and open to the public, but seating is limited, and online registration is required.
A distinguished leader in the aerospace industry, Hewson joined Lockheed Martin in
1983 as an industrial engineer and went on to hold a range of leadership positions
across the corporation. Her career included serving as executive vice president of
Lockheed Martin’s Electronic Systems business area, president of Lockheed Martin Systems
Integration and executive vice president of Global Sustainment for Lockheed Martin
Aeronautics.
Today, Hewson continues to contribute her expertise to the business, aerospace and
technology communities. She serves on the boards of Johnson & Johnson and Chevron,
as an executive advisor to World 50, and on the Board of Advisors of Air & Space Forces
Association's StellarXplorers. She is also a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics
and Astronautics and the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Hewson is a member of the Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, National
Academy of Engineering and American Academy of Arts & Sciences. She previously chaired
the Aerospace Industries Association Board of Governors and served on numerous U.S.
government advisory bodies, corporate boards and charitable organizations.
This special conversation will offer attendees an opportunity to hear from one of the aerospace industry's most accomplished leaders and gain insights into innovation, leadership and the future of aerospace and defense.
