Holiday Concert Celebrates 60 Years of South Alabama

University of South Alabama's Annual Holiday Concert

The University of South Alabama continues to celebrate 60 years with its annual Holiday Concert featuring the theme “Home for the Holidays.” The public is invited to attend this free event on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Mitchell Center Arena.

Holiday refreshments will be served. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The holiday concert, among a host of activities planned to commemorate the University’s 60th Anniversary year, will include performances from the USA Concert Choir, University Chorale, USA Wind Ensemble, USA Opera Theatre, USA Percussion Ensemble, USA Trumpet Ensemble, Celtic Crúe, USA Clarinet Ensemble, USA Piano Duo, USA Jazz Band, USA Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble and the USA Jaguar Marching Band.

“The music in this 60th Anniversary holiday concert celebrates the University and its many contributions to the community over the years,” said Music Department Chair and Associate Professor Dr. Laura Moore. “We are grateful to President Gordon Moulton for beginning the tradition of the President’s Concert, and we are also grateful to President Jo Bonner and Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Andi Kent for their support. We are pleased to showcase the high quality of our student performers in large and small ensembles from the Department of Music, combined with the Jaguar Marching Band.”

Free parking is available in the following lots: Mitchell Center (401), Engineering (501&502), Humanities (607), and Gamma (303). Handicapped parking will be available in the Mitchell Center parking lot. The JagTran will be providing round-trip transportation from these parking lots to the Mitchell Center before and after the event.
