Registration is now open for The Mentor Practicum, a cohort-based training designed for faculty, residents, program coordinators, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows — anyone currently mentoring or seeking to engage in a mentoring relationship, whether as mentor or mentee.

This is an in-person, cohort-based program totaling 10 hours across four 2.5-hour sessions, held on four consecutive Fridays from 2 to 4:30 p.m.:

  • Session 1 – Friday, September 18: Defining Mentoring
  • Session 2 – Friday, September 25: Communicating Effectively
  • Session 3 – Friday, October 2: Mentoring the Whole Person
  • Session 4 – Friday, October 9: Applying the Mentor/Mentee Self to Professional Context

Minimal reading is required between sessions, approximately two to three hours total.

Location: Strada Patient Care Center Conference Room 1101 (a Zoom option is available for exceptional circumstances).

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Discover the essential elements of a mentoring relationship that enable learning and growth.
  • Demonstrate learning- and growth-oriented behaviors as both mentor and mentee.
  • Focus on cultivating these behaviors within their own unit (team/lab/division/department).

The program is requesting CME credit approval. A certificate of completion acknowledging professional development will be provided upon completion.

Space is limited; early registration is encouraged. Register here: https://forms.gle/7q7FNFZFkBohV4ck8
