Milena Mata, a Study Abroad Alumna, Spends Semester Abroad Teaching

Milena Mata teaches English at the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
Milena Mata was awarded the 2024 Dr. Anthony S. Corbiere Scholarship by Phi Sigma Iota for her outstanding performance as a communication and foreign languages (Spanish concentration) major.
Milena uses her $2,800 award to travel to Spain in the fall of 2025 where she will embark on a year-long internship teaching English at the Toledo campus of the University of Castilla la Mancha.
Each year, Phi Sigma Iota awards 10 nationally competitive scholarships to nationwide applicants.
