The University of South Alabama has recycled more than 881,000 pounds of material
including paper, cardboard, plastic, wooden pallets, tires and scrap metal.
The University of South Alabama Sustainability Committee was formed to improve sustainability
and resiliency around the campus of South Alabama. In addition to increasing the availability
of on-campus recycling options, the committee also strives to promote effective environmental
stewardship and foster an engaged student body that is educated and knowledgeable
about sustainability issues.

Guest Lecture on Environmental Justice

Dr. Jennifer Carrera, Michigan State University, will discuss environmental justice and differential access to environmental resources and its impact on the well-being of individuals in marginalized communities, using water as a lens through which to examine mechanisms of exclusion. The event will take place Monday, November 5 at 6:00 PM in the Health Sciences Building 1020 and is open to the public.
