Leadership Opportunity
Youth Leadership South is a new opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors offered through the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, Dr. Andi Kent. The program is designed to help students enhance leadership skills, interact with faculty, staff, and student leaders, and learn more about the opportunities available through higher education. The cost is $50 per student. The group will meet at 8:30 am – 1:30 pm four times during the academic year, and will be invited to participate in additional activities throughout the year. Upon selection more details will be provided about logistics and content of sessions, along with payment information.
Selection Process
Cohorts are selected each academic year based on recommendations from their guidance counselor. Applications for the 2026-2027 cohort close on May 15th. The 2026-2027 class of Youth Leadership South will be notified if they are selected by June 2026. Participation and successful competition of Youth Leadership South increases your opportunities for scholarships at the University of South Alabama.
