Graduating Senior, Hannah Boling, awarded Biology Department Rawls Award

Hannah Boling was selected as the recipient of the 2020-2021 John M. Rawls Award as the most outstanding senior biology major in the Biology Department at South Alabama. Hannah came to the University of South Alabama in 2018 from Athens Alabama and graduated summa cum laude in three years. During her time at South, she was involved in several student organizations including the Biology Student Association, American Chemical Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and South Alabama Pre-Health. Hannah was a Presidential Scholar and won several awards and scholarships while at South. Hannah was an active volunteer on and off campus and supported Girls Exploring Math & Science (GEMS), the annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup, and a variety of other organizations racking up over 170 hours of volunteer service as a student. In preparation for her career after graduating, Hannah was involved in undergraduate research in Dr. Jason Strickland’s lab and also shadowed medical professionals. Hannah was accepted into and has started graduate school at Nova Southeastern University in Tampa Bay Florida to become an Anesthesiologist Assistant.
