NSF RII Track 2 FEC: Building Research Infrastructure and Workforce in Edge Artificial Intelligence

Led by The University of South Alabama, NSF EPSCoR Edge AI is building a new Edge AI research infrastructure with novel algorithms, hardware, sensors and devices and to train a diverse workforce in Alabama, North Dakota, and Arkansas by driving transformational advancement in the capabilities of AI in edge devices. Bringing together a multidisciplinary team from six universities, NSF EPSCoR Edge AI’s goal is to accelerate AI implementation developed to the point where it can be readily included within edge devices, promoting real-time decision-making.

NSF EPSCoR Edge AI is committed to developing an Education-to-Workforce Pipeline in Edge AI to train, educate, and develop a diverse workforce. The developed pipeline target groups include high school students, undergraduates (including tribal college students and minority students) and graduate students, Post-Doctoral researchers, junior faculty, and industry practitioners.
