"Three Amigos" Tuba Celebration Recitals May 22-24 at USA Laidlaw!

The Event

A Special Festival Honoring the Achievements of tuba legends R. Winston Morris, Daniel Perantoni, and Jim Self. Join tubists from across the country and around the world as we honor three luminary tuba performers, pedagogues, and people in a special one-time celebration held at the University of South Alabama Laidlaw Performing Arts Center May 21-24. Former students, colleagues, and friends will  to celebrate the "Three Amigos" - R. Winston Morris, Daniel Perantoni, and Jim Self - in several concert events.

The Celebration will be a time to share our love and admiration for these three giants of the tuba-euphonium community that have influenced thousands of students over the past half century.

Three Amigos Celebration Concerts at USA Laidlaw

Concert Performances

Experience three unforgettable recitals honoring each of the "Three Amigos" performed by their former students. All concerts will be performed in the Recital Hall at the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center and admission is free to the public.

Friday, May 22, 2026
4:00 PM - Daniel Perantoni Celebration Recital
6:30 PM - Jim Self Celebration Recital

Saturday, May 23, 2026
4:00 PM - R. Winston Morris Celebration Recital

Sunday, May 24, 2026
11:00 AM - Mass Tuba Euphonium Ensemble Closing Concert

Admission to these Department of Music concerts is free and open to the public. Persons needing more information about these event or in need of special accommodation may call 251-460-7116 or 251-460-6136.
