Three Amigos Tuba Celebration at University of South Alabama May 21-24

As a part of a special "Three Amigos Tuba Celebration Festival" honoring the lives and careers of three tuba legends, the University of South Alabama is proud to host Concert No. 1 of the event - "Studio Perantoni, Tuba Celebration Recital." Join tubists from across the country and around the world as we honor the great performer and tuba pedagogue Daniel Perantoni on Friday, May 22 at 4:00 p.m. in the USA Laidlaw Performing Arts Center. Admission is free to the public.

The entire Celebration will be a time to share our love and admiration for three giants of the tuba-euphonium community that have influenced thousands of students over the past half-century. Former students, colleagues, and friends will honor these "Three Amigos" in several concert events May 21-24, including this concert for Daniel Perantoni, and following performances for Jim Self and R. Winston Morris.

Concert Performances

Experience three unforgettable recitals honoring each of the "Three Amigos" performed by their former students. All concerts will be performed in the Recital Hall at the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center and admission is free to the public.

Friday, May 22, 2026
4:00 PM - Daniel Perantoni Celebration Recital
6:30 PM - Jim Self Celebration Recital

Saturday, May 23, 2026
4:00 PM - R. Winston Morris Celebration Recital

Sunday, May 24, 2026
11:00 AM - Mass Tuba Euphonium Ensemble Closing Concert

Admission to these Department of Music concerts is free and open to the public. Persons needing more information about these event or in need of special accommodation may call 251-460-7116 or 251-460-6136.
