As the Black Student Union at the University of South Alabama we are constantly seeking active ways to engage with the larger Mobile community and bridge the gap to create a Greater Mobile, the Black Girls Rock initiative was created by Black Student Union to enhance our civic responsibility of giving back, encouraging and supporting local African American female high school students in their quest to attend an institution of higher learning. In total we have awarded over $8,000 in scholarships by fundraising and various sponsorships for the Mobile community and various departments around the USA campus.
