Simeon Barbour - Associate Director

Simeon served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman and did two deployments to Iraq. He left the Marine Corps in 2010 to start a family.  In 2018, he left the construction world to go back and get his degree in history. He has been with the University of South Alabama since 2020 and took over as Associate Director in September of 2022. When not at work can be found watching a documentary on World War II or listening to some smooth jazz.

 

Cayleigh Barber - Academic Records Supervisor/School Certifying Official

Cayleigh served as a combat medic in the United States Army from 2010 to 2013.  After her service ended, she earned a degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 2020 from South.  One month later she gave birth to her beautiful daughter Vivian.  She joined our team in August of 2022. In her spare time you can find Cayleigh playing with her doberman Vada or doing outdoor activities with her family. Cayleigh's husband also served in the United States Army and her father is a Marine as well. Having been a part of the military world her whole life, she continues to serve the community passionately.

 

Lauren Newman - Credentials and Degree Analyst II/School Certifying Official

Lauren is a graduate from Auburn University with a degree in journalism in 2009. Afterwards she married into the military and her husband is a Major in the Air Force Reserves.  More recently, they and their two beautiful children moved to Daphne. She joined the team in November 2022 and when not at work, you can regularly find her at a ball field or shopping online.

 

Julia Bristow - Graduate Assistant

Julia is a graduate from Mississippi State University with a degree in nutrition in 2022. She is currently in graduate school at the University of South Alabama, pursuing her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She joined the team in May 2023, and in her spare time, she enjoys running, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.
