Paying Your Tuition
Need to make a payment? USA offers several different options for making payments on your student account.
Payment Methods
- Log into PAWS
- Click 'Student Services & Financial Aid'
- Click 'Student Records'
- Click 'Additional Links', if using a mobile device.
- Click 'Student Account Access'
From here you will be able to view your balance, estimated financial aid, and remaining balance that includes your estimated financial aid.
You can also click 'Make a Payment' or 'Enroll in Payment Plan' from this screen.
If you click 'View Activity', you will be able to review your charges, estimated aid, and any payments in more detail.
Visit the Office of Student Accounting located in Meisler Hall, Suite 1300 to pay in person.
Payment can be made via cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card.
Checks should be made payable to the "University of South Alabama" and the student's Jag Number should be written on the check.
As a way to help students and their families better navigate the cost of a college education, we are excited to offer the USA Payment Plan.
The payment plan allows students and their families the flexibility to spread out payments across multiple months.
Students must enroll in the payment plan each term, and follow the deadline dates as set in the Financial Calendar. Click here for more detailed information.

- Mailed payments must be received by the payment deadline.
Eligible students must complete a Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be considered for financial aid eligibility.

Students can apply for scholarships through JagSPOT, USA's scholarship-matching tool for incoming admitted and current University of South Alabama students.
Awarded scholarships will be applied to a student's account balance in PAWS. If scholarships do not fully cover your bill, the amount due will be reduced accordingly, and you will need to pay the balance due or enroll in the payment plan by the deadline.
The Office of Scholarship Services cannot credit an external scholarship award to a student's account until the funds have been received.
External scholarship checks should be mailed to the following address:

- External scholarship checks should be made payable to the "University of South Alabama".
- The student's Jag Number, donor's contact information, and the award terms should also be included with the scholarship check.
- Account owners must submit a request for payment from the 529 plan administrator.
- Allow up to three weeks for the payment to be credited to the student’s account.
- The payment must be received and posted to the student’s account no later than 5 p.m. on the payment due date. Failure to meet this deadline will result in your student’s registration being canceled.
- All checks should be made payable to the "University of South Alabama" and must include the student’s name, Jag Number and what semester the check is for.

New students should connect with the Office of Veteran Affairs at the time of application to the University for assistance in using VA benefits. Educational benefits must be requested in writing each semester by completing a Request for Certification.
Students receiving veteran's benefits are responsible for the payment of all tuition and fees at the time of registration.
It is the student's responsibility to ensure that all requests for VA and Federal Tuition Assistance are submitted two weeks prior to the start of each term. Reach out to the Office of Veteran Affairs at vets@southalabama.edu if you have any questions.

USA employees eligible to receive the Employee Education Benefit (EEB) are not required to complete any documentation. Once the employee is enrolled as a degree seeking student, the Office of Student Accounting will assess the account for the EEB prior to the start of the term.
The Educational Benefit Certification Form is required to be completed by the USA employee in order for a spouse/dependent to receive the EEB. The required documentation must be submitted to Human Resources for processing. The Office of Student Accounting will assess the student's account for the EEB prior to the start of the term.
