What We Do
Design, Manufacture, Integrate, Test , Validate and Compete.
Jag Racing's Formula program brings together University of South Alabama students to design, develop, and manufacture a student designed, formula-style race car. Through this program, students apply classroom knowledge to real world engineering challenges while gaining hands-on experience in vehicle development, manufacturing, project management, and teamwork.
The current initiative focuses on establishing a new internal combustion vehicle program, preparing for a new vehicle build, and developing the technical and operational capabilities necessary for future competition.
Students gain valuable experience in engineering design, project planning, manufacturing, systems integration, safety, testing, fundraising, technical documentation, and communication.
Current Season Goals
Our current priorities are centered on establishing a strong foundation for the team's next vehicle and future competition participation.
- Complete remaining vehicle design reviews.
- Define system interfaces and technical documentation.
- Establish procurement and manufacturing plans.
- Organize component fabrication and vehicle assembly.
- Develop safe inspection and testing procedures.
- Expand student technical training and hands-on development.
- Strengthen sponsorship, budgeting, reporting, and travel-planning processes.
Competition
Jag Racing is working toward future Formula participation. Our team is focused on developing the vehicle, strengthening its engineering capabilities, and preparing for the technical and operational requirements associated with competition.
