Outdoor Adventures is a great place for current USA students to find employment. The Student Recreation Center is conveniently located on Jaguar Boulevard and easily accessible to USA students who live on and off campus.
Climbing Wall Attendant Jobs
Climbing Wall Attendant jobs are available each semester for any current USA student. The climbing wall is open 2:00-8:00pm daily. The wall may be open extra hours occasionally for private parties and special events. Climbing Wall Attendants are eligible to work up to 20 hours per week and are scheduled based on availability and around academic class times. Timely schedule requests and availability updates allow time for other activities and home visits. Climbing Wall Attendants are required to attend a 4-hour safety course prior to beginning work. Climbing Wall attendants will also be required to work at the Outdoor Rental Center (often referred to as the Cabin) when needed. Climbing Wall Attendants pay ranges $7.25-$8.00/hour.
Adventure Trip Leader Jobs
Trip Leader jobs are available each semester for any current USA student. Trip Leaders can expect to lead 1-4 adventure trips a month, dependent upon skill and availability. Adventure Trips last anywhere from several hours to several days. At the beginning of each semester Trip Leaders will be assigned trips based on a preference sheet they have filled out. Adventure Trips run in the Mobile area and other locations across the Southeast. Trip Leaders will be given various trainings such as Wilderness First Aid, Truck/Trailer driving, Paddling Skills, Leadership Skills, and Group Camping. Trip Leaders will be responsible for planning their trips, contacting participants, creating risk management plans, and teaching necessary skills to participants. Trip leaders are eligible to work up to 20 hours per week. Trip Leader pay ranges $7.25 – $8.00/ hour.
Outdoor Rental Center (Cabin) Attendant Jobs
Cabin Attendant Jobs are available each semester for any current USA student. Cabin Attendants are eligible to work up to 20 hours per week and are scheduled based on availability and around academic class times. Cabin Attendants can expect to rent out gear, clean returning gear, assist in Adventure Trip planning and preparation. Cabin attendants are expected to be knowledgeable in the Outdoor Adventures program and prepared to answer calls, emails, and Cabin visitors. Cabin Attendant pay ranges $7.25-$8.00/hour
