The University of South Alabama Office of Community Engagement is excited to announce our Semester of Service initiative for Spring 2022!

Semester of Service is an initiative focused on getting Jags out into the community doing in-person service. Volunteers have a huge impact on the lives of others, and we hope you'll consider sharing your time and talents this semester with our local partners who are working to meet critical community needs.  Participate in any three service projects on South Serves and get a chance to celebrate with us in April!

We’re excited for Jags to get back into the community and help our neighbors in need!

Based on your response to our sign-up form, we will create unique South Serves user groups for you as a way to track your service for this initiative for any and every college or organization.

As you’re volunteering this semester, please keep in mind these Semester of Service guidelines:

  • Participants are asked to volunteer at least 3 times between February 15 and April 15
  • This can be 3 sessions with the same agency or 3 sessions with different agencies
  • Volunteering must be in response to a need on South Serves
  • Make sure you include your “Semester of Service” user group(s) when entering your volunteer hours in South Serves

For those who participate in Semester of Service 2022, we'll be hosting an end-of semester thank you and recognition event with food, games, music, and more. We hope to see you and your friends in April, so please share this sign-up form with anyone you think might like to participate.
