Dr. Dennis Fell Given Lucy Blair Service Award

Dr. Dennis Fell, professor and chair in the USA Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions department of physical therapy, recently received the Lucy Blair Service Award from the American Physical Therapy Association at its annual conference.
Fell has taught neuroscience and neuromuscular rehabilitation since 1992. He was awarded a year-long sabbatical as Visiting International Professor at Daegu University in South Korea in 2010-2011 and has given lectures in 10 different countries and developed and led annual international service trips for students in the health professions. He is author/editor of a new comprehensive, evidence-based life-span neurological rehabilitation textbook to be published by FA Davis in 2017.
The Lucy Blair Service Award honors members who have made exceptional contributions to the association through district, chapter, committee, section, task force or national activities. Lucy Blair, who died in 1985, was known for her unswerving dedication, self-sacrifice without limit, infectious enthusiasm, strong personal and professional values, a sharp wit and sense of humor, and a genuine interest and concern for each individual she met.
