Commencement

Student walking across stage for graduation

Spring Commencement

The University of South Alabama will honor its graduation candidates through individual college commencement ceremonies. All Spring 2021 and bachelor and master Summer 2021 candidates* are eligible to attend their college/school’s 2021 Spring Commencement ceremony. Each graduating student will be able to invite up to 4 guests to attend their ceremony. These ceremonies will be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend. There will be no University-wide ceremony.

At the individual college and school ceremonies, students will be recognized by name and receive their diploma covers and have their photos taken. Social distancing protocols will be observed, and guests will be seated with sufficient distance between groups. All attendees, students and guests, will be required to wear a mask at all times while in the Mitchell Center.

Degrees will be conferred to students who meet graduation eligibility. Diplomas will be mailed to students just as they are each fall and spring.

Regalia ordering will open approximately two months prior to Commencement Week. Additional information will be posted as details are finalized.

While every attempt will be made to hold commencement as planned, these events are subject to change at any time due to COVID-19 requirements and regulations. Students and guests should plan accordingly, as the University cannot be responsible for changed or canceled travel plans.

We look forward to seeing our graduates at these ceremonies.

*Summer 2021 doctoral candidates will participate in 2021 Fall Commencement.
