Chandra Sank (Class of 2016)

Chandra SankOriginally from Mobile, Alabama, I now call Louisville, Kentucky my home, where I serve in a meaningful role at the American Red Cross. As a philanthropy development specialist, I bring an anthropological lens to fundraising—blending cultural insight, cross-cultural communication, and data analysis to foster genuine, impactful relationships with donors. My work is rooted in compassion and a deep commitment to communities in crisis.

My passion for service extends beyond the workplace. I’m actively involved in my church as a Core Leader in the youth department and a proud member of the Young Professionals Association of Louisville. My global perspective has been shaped by immersive experiences, including time spent living in Ugandan villages—learning local traditions, sharing meals, and supporting families both spiritually and practically. My journey began with a degree in Anthropology, where I developed a deep understanding of human behavior, cultural systems, and societal structures. This mindset helps me move beyond a “one-size-fits-all” approach—in both my professional and personal life.

Before joining the Red Cross, I spent eight years in the hospitality industry, a career that allowed me to travel widely and connect with people from all walks of life. Whether through philanthropy, mentorship, or outreach, I’m driven by a passion to uplift others and build bridges across cultures.
