About USA MAA

Since its inception, the USA Medical Alumni Association (MAA) was built on a singular vision: to forge a lifelong bridge between the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine and its graduates. Founded through the collaborative leadership of Dr. Clyde G. Huggins, Dr. Samuel Eichold, and Dean Robert A. Kreisberg, M.D., the MAA was established to unite alumni, recruit top medical talent, and champion high standards in education and patient care. Today, that founding spirit drives our mission as we advance alumni careers and empower future physicians through scholarships, mentorship, and educational enhancements.

Governing the USA Medical Alumni Association is a dedicated Board of Directors composed of 16 elected graduates and 2 Student Directors from the Whiddon College of Medicine. Led by an Executive Committee (consisting of the President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, Chair of the Alumni and Student Services Committee, and Immediate Past President), the Board thoughtfully directs resources to fulfill our mission: strengthening our global alumni network and enriching the experience for currently enrolled medical scholars.

The USA Medical Alumni Association Board of Directors is currently at full capacity; however, the
Association continuously accepts nominations for future vacancies. Submissions received at this time
will be retained on file and formally reviewed during the next election cycle.

The USA MAA invites Members of the Association to submit nominations for future consideration.
Directors support the Whiddon College of Medicine and its students by driving alumni engagement,
building a culture of philanthropy, and fundraising for scholarships and milestone programming.

Board meetings are convened quarterly on the USA campus and may be attended in person or virtually. Directors are required to attend a minimum of one meeting annually. In addition to meeting
participation, Directors are expected to actively engage in committee work, fundraising initiatives,
alumni programming, and networking efforts as requested by the Board. 

Self-nominations are accepted. All nominees must be current dues-paying members (Annual or Lifetime) of the Association, or be willing to activate their membership prior to the commencement of the next nomination review period.

Class Representatives serve as a dedicated communication link between the Medical Alumni
Office and our alumni network. In this role, Class Reps:

• Share college updates and alumni news
• Foster camaraderie within their graduating class
• Champion participation in alumni events and giving initiatives
