- Eligibility: MD and PhD alumni of the Whiddon College of Medicine, and USA Health resident and fellow alumni within 5 years of medical school graduation or residency/fellowship completion.
- Benefits: Counts as an active year toward the MAA Legacy Scholarship (awarded to M2 students
who are children or grandchildren of Whiddon COM graduates; requires active membership
for 3 of the past 5 years).

The Medical Alumni Annual Fund powers the lifelong value of your degree. Your support directly elevates our alumni community through professional development and class reunions while actively championing the next generation of physicians and scientists.
- Alumni Engagement & CME: Reunites graduates through multi-class reunions, regional networking pop-ups, and continuing medical education.
- Career & Mentorship: Builds bridges between established physicians and current medical students through specialty career mixers and professional networking.
- Scholarships & Academic Support: Eases student financial burden through annual scholarship awards and funds targeted USMLE board prep resources.
- Milestone Traditions: Preserves the traditions that define the South Alabama experience, including M3 White Coats, PhD lab coats, and Match Day celebrations.
Easing the financial burden of medical school is one of the most impactful ways you can invest in the future of medicine. Through the generosity of our alumni network, the MAA Annual Fund supports our USA Medical Alumni Scholarship Endowment, annually distributing over $60,000 to deserving medical students.

Leave a collective footprint at the USA Whiddon College of Medicine by uniting your class to fund a permanent endowment. Endowments begin at $25,000, which may be pledged over a five-year period. Your generosity will generate annual scholarship support in perpetuity, creating an enduring legacy that transforms lives and strengthens the USA medical community.
