Mitchell College Investment Students Earn Top Honors in Miami

Junior analysts from the Mitchell College of Business Jaguar Investment Fund (JIF) recently represented the University of South Alabama at the Student Managed Investment Fund Consortium in Miami.

The analysts competed against peers from across the country, earning fifth-place honors in both the poster session and the firm analysis competition.

During the poster session, JIF analysts presented the fund’s performance, investment strategies and decision-making processes. For the firm analysis event, the team applied fundamental analysis to evaluate investment opportunities and defended their financial recommendations.

A panel of finance and economics faculty judged the contests. Officials provided technical feedback and commended the students for their performance and professionalism.
