The Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama is introducing a new concentration in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence within its marketing major to help prepare students for data-driven careers.
The program was created in response to exploding industry demand for professionals who can analyze quantitative data, integrate artificial intelligence tools into their business processes and translate technical insights into actionable strategies.
The degree will equip graduates to meet the urgent need for analytical talent across Alabama, particularly within the manufacturing, logistics and consulting sectors. Occupations such as management analysts and market research analysts consistently rank among the top 25 fastest-growing jobs in the state and offer strong growth potential.
"As the flagship of the Gulf Coast, the University of South Alabama strives to deliver forward-thinking education," said Dr. Michael Capella, dean of the Mitchell College of Business. "By integrating artificial intelligence and advanced analytics into our marketing curriculum, we are ensuring our graduates remain at the forefront of a data-driven economy."
The program’s curriculum will engage students in experiential learning through hands-on class projects with local businesses, advanced certifications and a mandatory industry internship before graduation.
Key class topics will include:
- Marketing Analytics
- Market Research
