Posted on November 1, 2025 by Amanda Akey
Mitchell College of Business real estate program students recently attended the International
Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Southeast Conference in Atlanta, Ga. The ICSC conference
brings together commercial real estate professionals to network and explore the latest
trends shaping spaces where consumers shop, dine, work, play and gather.
Twelve Mitchell College real estate students had the opportunity to hear from industry
experts on important topics such as capital development, government relations, artificial
intelligence and even the role sports teams play when developing new consumer spaces.
The students also had the opportunity to attend a special student session on the essential
skills for internship and job success in the commercial real estate space.
From networking with industry leaders to learning about the world of commercial real
estate, this trip equipped our students with important knowledge, career inspiration
and valuable new connections.
A special thank you to Burton Property Group for making this experience possible.
Generosity like theirs is vital to opening doors for the next generation of real estate
talent.
