The Mitchell College of Business created and hosted the Ethics Seminar, a semiannual event, to give students insight into ethical practices in the corporate world and the consequences of participating in unethical practices. The event is open to faculty, staff, students and community members.
This fall’s featured guest speaker was Aaron Beam. Beam, cofounder of HealthSouth and formed Chief Financial Officer, was involved in the infamous HealthSouth fraud case. Beam pled guilty to his crimes and spent time in federal prison. Beam is now a published author and educational speaker on corporate ethics. He resides in Loxley, Alabama with his wife of 45 years, Phyllis.
