Angelina Ladner is a second-year student at the University of South Alabama. Originally from Pass Christian, Mississippi, she found her place within The Mitchell College of Business.

“I have always had a passion for fueling my creativity through projects. This helped me discover marketing! After receiving a gracious scholarship and reassuring recommendations, I knew South Alabama was the right place for me.”

Within only her first year at South, Angelina has taken the initiative and become very involved on campus. Being a member of the First Year Council and Honors College exposed her to the numerous opportunities on campus. Angelina is now an active member of the Native American Student Association, the American Marketing Association and represents MCOB as a Senator in the Student Government Association. She has poured into her passions and acquired a job within her college as a marketing assistant. This drive also led her to become a certified yoga instructor at the University’s Recreation Center.

“Being able to pour into my interests within my university has truly been a blessing. I am able to discover what I have a passion for and turn it into a career.”

She even approached one of her freshman professors with her interests. This proved very useful when this professor introduced her to a like-minded professor who was excited to start academic research.

“I was able to learn that my interests in fashion marketing were not unique to me; I was able to connect with individuals like me. My professor and I are now partaking in academic research on the basis of fast fashion. This topic is what I will formulate my senior thesis on for Honors College.”

Angelina has truly begun making her mark at the university and will continue to strive for success. Her upbringing allowed her to develop a sense of dedication, hard work, and accountability.

“My biggest piece of advice is to just go for it! You truly do miss 100% of shots you don’t take.”
