Special Distinguished Young Women Scholarship opportunities include:

  • Scholarship for full tuition, fees, room and board for the Alabama’s Distinguished Young Woman
  • Scholarship for full tuition, fees, room and board for the Distinguished Young Woman, overall winner
  • Scholarship for full tuition, fees, room and board for the Distinguished Young Woman, scholastics  winner
  • Scholarship for full tuition, fees, room and board for any State Distinguished Young Woman with a 3.0 GPA and 30

Scholar Spotlight: Genevieve Batman

Genevieve BatmanGenevieve Batman is a junior majoring in exercise science and interdisciplinary studies. After winning the Distinguished Young Women of Maryland, a national scholarship competition hosted in Mobile, she was offered a full ride to South. Genevieve is a Carson Scholar, Elks Most Valuable Student Semi-Finalist, Burger King Scholar, Lalitta Nash McKaig Foundation Scholarship Recipient, Maryland Masonic Scholar, the recipient of the Meghan Price Drum Major Award, and most recently the recipient of the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship. She plans to pursue a doctorate of osteopathic medicine and a Ph.D. in structural anatomy and rehabilitative sciences and aims to pioneer research investigating the mechanisms and treatments of muscular injury in performing artists.
