Below is a list of applications that address a variety of concerns and can be used to support the work you do in counseling or assist with self-improvement. The applications are sorted by topic and include links to Google Play and iTunes.

Breathe2Relax

Breathe2Relax app for iPhone is a portable stress management tool. It's a hands-on diaphragmatic breathing exercise. Breathing exercises have been documented to decrease the body's 'fight-or-flight' response, and help with mood stabilization, anger control, and anxiety management.

Calm

The Calm app for iPhone and  the Calm App for Android devices was branded as Apple's "App of the Year" in 2017. The app is designed to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and help you to feel happier. Calm focuses on the four key areas of meditation, breathing, sleep, and relaxation, with the aim of bringing joy, clarity, and peace to your daily life. The app delivers meditations that can help you to de-stress, as well as breathing programs, music, and sounds from nature to relax your mind and body and promote better sleep. Calm is the perfect app if you are new to meditation, but it also offers programs for more advanced users. Meditation sessions are available in lengths of 3–25 minutes, to fit in with your schedule.

SAM

The SAM (Self-Help for Anxiety Management) app for Android offers options for tracking anxiety, identifying anxiety triggers, teaching breathing and relaxation strategies, and developing an anxiety management toolkit.

Stop Panic and Anxiety

Stop Panic and Anxiety Android app is free and offers self-help methods to control panic and anxiety. The info in this app assumes that you are suffering from panic attacks due to Panic Disorder. It may not be applicable to other forms of anxiety. It focuses on the fear of having a panic attack and the fear of the sensations when having a panic.

This Depression CBT Self-Help Guide Android app contains a depression severity test, audios, articles, a cognitive diary, and a motivational points system that help you learn how to do this.

Cognitive Diary CBT

The self-help methods used in this Cognitive Diary CBT Android app are based on the tools of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and challenge irrational thinking.

This iPhone and Android app allows you a way to connect with your most trusted friends to stay close and attempt to prevent violence before it happens. It lets you choose six trusted friends to add to your circle. If you get into an uncomfortable situation, use Circle of 6 to automatically send your circle a pre-programmed SMS alert message with your exact location.
