It’s time for students, alumni, faculty, staff and fans of all ages to get ready to celebrate Homecoming 2024 at the University of South Alabama, with the theme “Timeless Traditions,” Oct. 21-26.
Homecoming activities include Junk the Jungle, Battle of the DJs, a talent show, bonfire, pep rally and fireworks, including other student and alumni events. Visit the Homecoming website for a full list of activities.
One of the most anticipated events will be a live concert featuring chart-topper country artist Niko Moon with Grammy Award nominee Blanco Brown performing on Monday, Oct. 21, at 8 p.m. at the Mitchell Center. The concert tickets are free for South students, $10 for faculty and staff, and $20 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the Mitchell Center.
“Jaguar Productions is thrilled to bring Niko Moon and Blanco Brown to South for this long-standing tradition, the Homecoming concert!" said Jaguar Productions President Simone Holmes. “It’s going to be an amazing experience that will bring the campus community together for a good time.”
Moon established a successful career writing songs for artists like Pit Bull, the Zac Brown Band and Rascal Flatts. He has written many number-one songs and more than 40 major record-label cuts for various artists. Moon will be performing songs like “Good Time,” “Coastin’” and “These are the Days.”
Brown has been a songwriter and producer in pop and hip-hop. He’s made a name for himself in country music by blending classic country and traditional hip-hop sounds in songs like his platinum-certified single “The Git Up.”
“Homecoming is a celebration of timeless traditions, reminding us that no matter where life takes us, we always carry a piece of the University of South Alabama with us,” said Aimee Meyers, USA’s homecoming committee co-chair. “We look forward to South celebrating with the entire community. There will be something for everyone to enjoy.”
