Urology Residency Program
Interview Dates
Interviews for the Urology Residency Program 2027-2028 academic year will be held in person in November 2026.
Welcome Message

The Department of Urology at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine is proud to announce the Urology Residency Program, which began in July 2023. Our residents spend time training in general urology, robotics, male reconstructive urology, pediatric urology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, trauma and urologic oncology at USA Health.
This five-year program accepts one PGY-1 resident per year, and applications are managed through ERAS. Candidate selection is based upon letters of recommendation, board scores, publications, presentations, grades, and extracurricular activities. Upon final review of applications, we will extend invitations for personal interviews. Our program participates in the National Urology Match.
Our faculty currently comprises seven urologists: two pediatric urologists (one full time and one part time), two FPMRS urologists, two general urologists and one robotic urologic oncologist. The department will be enlarging in September 2026 with the addition of three full-time fellowship-trained urologists covering men’s health, reconstructive urology, and urologic oncology.
The Department of Urology serves multiple facilities including USA Health University Hospital, Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Providence Hospital, and the Mitchell Cancer Institute, all located in Mobile, Alabama. We have outpatient clinic locations in Mobile and Fairhope, Alabama. Active growth is ongoing in Fairhope with the recent construction of an outpatient surgery center adjacent to our Fairhope clinic on the Mapp Family Campus.
We thank you for your interest in our program and look forward to meeting you!
