International students in front of Waterman Globe

The Honors College welcomes international students from all backgrounds and with any academic interest.  These students will be eligible for the Global USA Scholars program.

We also seek musicians for our Honors International Music Scholarships. This competitive, talent-based program celebrates the rich cultural and musical history and tradition of the Southeastern United States. Scholars receive dedicated mentorship, ensemble and group performance opportunities, and a full-tuition scholarship. We seek applicants in the following areas: drums, bass, piano/keyboard, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and guitar. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years, or until a first bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever comes first.

Students must be fully admitted to the University. Candidates for the Honors International Music Scholarship must audition. Auditions may happen remotely, and audition procedures may be found online:

  • Be an international freshman on an F-1 visa;
  • Be a degree-seeking student;
  • Have a minimum ACT of 28 (or SAT 1310);
  • Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5.
