Dr. Michael V. Doran has Passed Away

It is with a heavy heart that the University of South Alabama announces the passing of Dr. Michael V. Doran, Professor Emeritus and great friend. Dr. Doran retired from the School of Computing this past May after a 30 year career that included service as the Coordinator of the Computer Science department and Director of the University of South Alabama Honors Program. Mike was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
To celebrate the life of Dr. Doran, a memorial reception will be held on Friday, May 3, in Shelby Hall on the USA campus. A reception will begin at 5:30 pm in the 3rd floor executive board room #3104, followed by a memorial service at 6:15 pm in the multimedia auditorium #2119.
The Dr. Michael V. Doran Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor Mike and the legacy he leaves of providing exceptional educational experiences for our students and serving our community.
