The School of Computing celebrated excellence and achievement during its annual Scholarship and Awards Luncheon on April 3, recognizing outstanding students, faculty, staff and supporters who continue to strengthen the School of Computing community.

The event honored scholarship recipients and the generous donors whose support helps create opportunities for student success. Attendees also celebrated the announcement of this year’s commencement award recipients.

Among the faculty and staff recognized were Krista Stacey, who received the School of Computing Outstanding Teacher Award; Maureen Van Devender, recipient of the School of Computing Outstanding Advisor Award; and Amy Henderson, who was named School of Computing Staff Member of the Year.

Student award recipients included Jacob Barron and Jason Sonith, who were recognized as Outstanding Undergraduate Students. Kylie Arnett received the award for Outstanding Graduate Student.

“The Scholarship and Awards Luncheon is an opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of our students, faculty, and staff,” Todd Andel, Dean of the School of Computing, shared. “We are proud to recognize the individuals who make our community so strong and successful.”

Thank you to the event sponsors, ArcelorMittal Calvert and Infirmary Health, for their continued support of the program and its students.
