Congratulations to Associate Dean and Graduate Director, Dr. Debra Chapman, who was recognized in the April edition of Business Alabama magazine as one of 22 outstanding women who are propelling the tech scene in 2022.

"Debra Chapman is known for her interest in the recruitment and retention of women to STEM fields such as computing. She is the associate dean and the director of graduate studies for the University of South Alabama’s School of Computing. Her research interests include STEM education and the recruitment of more women in computing and other STEM fields. She also has been a faculty adviser to the School of Computing’s Jaguar Women in Technology student organization. Chapman earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education and social studies from the University of Southern Mississippi, her master’s in computer information sciences from the University of South Alabama, and her doctorate in instructional technology from the University of Southern Mississippi."
