Advocate Program
The USA Advocate Program (AP) is an essential component in the university’s effort to provide support and assistance to individuals who report sexual misconduct. The AP provides confidential, supportive services to individuals who report sexual harassment, sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Support Advocates have been formally trained and are faculty and staff members at the university. They serve as a linkage to the resources that are available on campus and in the community. Support Advocates can be contacted by the individual who is reporting sexual misconduct or by someone on behalf of the individual. Advocates are available to attend meetings and to assist in coordinating services (i.e. filing a police report, medical treatment, academic assistance, alternate housing assignment, counseling services, etc.). A Support Advocate can be assigned by calling (251) 460-7280.
