COVID-19 Client Resources

General:

  • WAVE Transit: Public transportation through WAVE Transit System is continuing on its regular schedule, but may be subject to change in the coming days.

Social Services

  • The City is engaging with local non-profits and service providers to make sure that citizens have access to needed resources.
  • For information regarding shelters, food pantries, help with utilities and other social needs, call 2-1-1.
  • 311: Mobile-311 is continuing service during the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • Please remember to call 9-1-1 only for life-threatening emergencies. For everything else, call our non-emergency number, 251-208-5311 or 3-1-1

Meals:

  • Grand Bay Food Pantry: Meal Pick Up Weekdays from 5:30-6:30PM March 19th to April 3rd (14282 Old Pascagoula Rd. Grand Bay, AL 36541)
  • Feeding the Gulf Coast: Monday through Friday, 8-4. Please call (888) 704-FOOD if you need assistance or have any questions.
  • The Food Pantry at Central: Drive thru pantry open Tuesdays (1260 Dauphin St Mobile, Alabama)

Students:

  • Start Here: USA One Stop
  • Student Health Center: Will remain open. Currently not able to test for COVID-19. If you have any questions, please call Student Health at (251) 460-7151 or email us at studenthealth@southalabama.edu
  • JagPantry Will Remain Open
  • Housing Will Help Students As needed
  • Dining will have the Fresh Food Company remain open for students who are approved to remain in on-campus housing and for student commuters who have meal plans
  • Academic resources is offering assistance (tutors) for
  • USA's Counseling services will continue to support the needs of our students. Beginning Monday, March 16, the Counseling and Wellness Center will begin providing all services through phone and virtual platforms. 
  • If you have extenuating circumstances and are not able to vacate or retrieve necessary belongings by the March 16th deadline and you need to request an extension, please email housing@southalabama.eduas soon as possible. Extensions will be reviewed on an individual basis. 

Seniors:

  • Connie Hudson Center – Café will provide $7.00 meals for pick-up from 12:30-1:30pm – to reserve a meal please call
  • SAIL – Nutritional Meals – We will deliver meals to all C1 and C2 participants starting on Monday.
  • Dollar General: Dollar General announced it had plans to dedicate the first hour of store operations each day to senior shoppers in response to the coronavirus epidemic.

Kids:

  • A limited number of meals will be provided on a first come first serve basis for pick-up between 3-4 pm at the following locations: Figures, Sullivan, Seals, Hope, Hillsdale, Laun, Stotts, Mitternight, Rickarby, Springhill
  • Rock N Roll Sushi Tillman’s Corner: Kids 12 and under eat free off of kids menu, dine in only, no purchase required, weekdays March 19th to April 3rd.
  • Chicken Salad Chick: Free Kids meals every Monday for kids 12 and under.
  • It’s All Greek To Me (Fairhope): Free lunch for kids 14 and under M-F from 12-1pm. 108 N. Section Street, Fairhope, AL 36532.
