Clinical Services

The Healthy Youth and Families lab offers evaluations and treatments conducted by graduate students on a sliding fee scale to members of the Mobile community. USA Psychology Department faculty (Licensed Psychologists) accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield and private pay clients

Research

Research is important to increasing our understanding of the ways anxiety problems develop in youth, how anxiety affects youth, as well as understanding the factors which influence parenting behaviors. With information from our research, we can develop both intervention and prevention strategies to help other youth and families who struggle with anxiety and stress. We primarily rely on volunteers from the community to help us gather information to better understand issues such as the effect of child anxiety on family dynamics, the role of parenting stress on families with children with autism, and the effectiveness of behavioral intervention for children with autism.

Education & Outreach

We are committed to developing collaborative relationships with local organizations. The primary purpose of these collaborations is to help children and families succeed by supplying them with the tools necessary to navigate life’s challenges. We aims to achieve this by providing consultation to parents, kids, educators, and health professions. The Healthy Youth & Families Lab is available for education presentations.
