Dr. April DuPree Taylor is a native of Hattiesburg, MS. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in English and her Master's degree in Speech Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi. She earned her PhD in Instructional Design from the University of South Alabama (USA).
Dr. DuPree Taylor began teaching in the Department of Communication at USA in 1998. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the department. In addition to teaching courses in the Communication Studies track, Dr. DuPree Taylor also serves as the public speaking course coordinator. In this capacity, she coordinates the public speaking classes for all instructors, and she also recruits and trains graduate students to help communication faculty teach the public speaking course.
Dr. DuPree Taylor is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and she is involved in many service and philanthropic activities in Alabama and Mississippi. Dr. DuPree Taylor enjoys participating in service activities and she loves her job teaching at USA. However, she will quickly tell you that she considers her family to be her most important responsibility. Dr. DuPree Taylor is married to Coustaur Taylor. They are the parents of two amazing boys, Chandler DuPree Taylor and Chesney DuPree Taylor.
