Exercise Technology and Computing Laboratory

About the Lab

The Exercise Technology and Computing Laboratory is equipped with iWorx exercise physiology lab kits with wireless capabilities allowing for the implementation of hands-on learning for our students. The kits are equipped with technology to allow the hands-on assessment of oxygen consumption, carbon dioxide production, ECG/EMG, ventilation, grip force, temperature, and blood pressure among other measurements. The equipment also includes an ECG simulator with the ability to generate arrhythmias in order to practice identification.  The lab includes exam tables and bikes in order to allow measurements at rest and during exercise. Each station includes a laptop for data collection which can be sent to personal computers for individual data analysis. The lab also contains a Biodex dynamometer.
